Healthy snacking is a breeze in summer, thanks to the sheer abundance
of sweet, in-season fruits - berries, melons, peaches and plums in all
their magnificent varieties. If you're having fruit as your mid-morning or
mid-afternoon snack, be sure to eat it with a bit of a protein-rich food.
Snacks that contain both carbohydrates (i.e., the fruits' sugars) and
protein can help stave off hunger and also give you more energy.

Here are some protein-rich companions for your summer fruits: Vanilla
or lemon low-fat yogurt, Vanilla yogurt-and-honey dip, Small chunk of
hard cheese, Cottage cheese, Peanut butter on whole-wheat toast.
